Hear me hear me
Children of every age and size
I'm going recite a poem
And at the end someone gets a prize.

Now to get this prize
There is a catch
You have to figure out
Something that does latch.

Now I'll be nice and give you clues
But this comes at a price
To get the clues that you need
I'm gonna need some mice.

Alright, okay
No mice needed
But listen well
For this shan't be repeated.

Clue number one
The latcher or maybe the latchee
Is very small
And very furry.

Another clue is...
This guy likes to fight
And by latching
I just might mean bite.

See he latches on to things
With his little teeth
Anyone got an answer?
Ready? One, two, three.

Time is up!!!
Now what'd you think?
Is it a monkey?
Or maybe a sphinx?

No those aren't it
One more clue, he's orange
Yep, that's right
He's my baby kitten, George!!!

Did anybody guess it?
No? That's too bad
I guess I'll have to keep the prize
Now now, don't be sad.
