Crayola 96
Today I went to school,
on a big yellow bus.
I thought it would be cool,
until the driver started to fuss.
I went to my classroom,
with all the smelly kids.
I had to use the bathroom,
so I quickly did.
All the kids around me,
acted like nothing was wrong.
they cannot see what I see,
Inside the crayon box.
I found 96 bright colors,
of names I didn't know.
I was sure there was no others,
because Johnny told me so.
I quickly found my color,
my soul mate it would seem.
She was like no other,
Her name carnation pink.
As I touched her wrapping,
she started growing weak.
I heard her insides cracking,
that was the last of carnation pink.
It was then that I grew saddened,
picked up my midnight blue.
to my paper he went crashing,
And a picture he surely drew.
snapping out of sadness,
I grabbed that yellow green.
to the paper he went with madness,
Tearing up those leaves!
In my world so colored,
distant reality became.
But soon I had discovered,
the intercom had called my name.
disapointed at my drawing,
I threw the papers away.
Duty was now calling,
paperwork to be done today.
